Job description
Normal workweek MON - FRI 7 am-4pm. If work is available beyond the normal workdays, the employer may offer, but not require, the worker an opportunity for additional hours. Worker may be required to work in the fields when leaves are wet with dew or rain and should have suitable clothing for conditions which include light rain and temps ranging from 30 degrees to more than 100 degrees. Workers may be subject to dusty conditions hauling hay. Workers should be able to stand, bend, stoop, walk and lift 80 pounds while up to 40' high in barns for prolonged periods of time. Workers must be physically fit and able to perform the duties described. Workers will be trained for a period of 2 days (16 hours) after which each worker will be expected to cut 50 sticks of dark or burley tobacco per hour. CARE MUST BE EXCERCISED AT ALL TIMES TO PREVENT BRUISING OR BREAKING TOBACCO PLANTS OR LEAVES. CARE MUST BE EXCERCISED IN USING TOBACCO KNIFE, SPEAR AND WHILE CLIMBING AND STANDING ON BARN RAILS.
Tools and equipment: The employer will furnish, without charge to the workers, all tools, supplies and equipment required in the performance of the specified work.
