Job description
Participate in the inspection, grading, sorting, storage, and post-harvest treatment of crops including working with bins and augers; Repair, service, clean, and maintain farm vehicles, implements, and mechanical equipment; Set up, repair, maintain, and operate irrigation equipment including moving wheel lines; Inform farm managers of crop progress; Operate tractors, tractor-drawn machinery, and self-propelled machinery (much of which is equipped with GPS) to plow, harrow and fertilize soil, or to plant, cultivate, spray and harvest crops such as grain, sugar beets, potatoes; Load agricultural products into trailer without over or underfilling, and drive truck to market or storage facilities in close proximity to the farm; Clean work areas and maintain grounds and landscaping including picking rocks and walking fields to pull weeds; Regulate conditions; Repair farm buildings, fences, and other structures; Attach implements using hand tools.
Special Requirements
Three (3) months recent and verifiable experience required for the job duties listed. Must be able to obtain appropriate drivers license following hire and obtain clean driving record. Be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Once hired, worker may be required to take a random drug test at no cost to the worker. Testing positive for an illegal/controlled substance or failure to comply may result in immediate termination from employment.
