Job description

Workers will perform assigned duties as instructed by their supervisor. Manually Plant/Cultivate/Harvest trees, vegetables, fruits, nuts, and field crops. Duties may vary from time to time. Workers will shovel, haul, and spread manure, dig holes, ditches, and trenches. Use hand tools such as shovels, rakes, wheelbarrows, axes, pick, hand saw, trowels, chopping hoes, tampers, pruning hooks, shears, and knives. Duties also may include tilling soil, applying fertilizers, transplanting, weeding, thinning, or pruning crops, and cleaning, grading, packing, and loading harvested product. Plant seeds by hand. Loading and unloading plants on/off trucks to fill orders. May provide minor repairs to existing trellises, fences, and farm buildings, also participate in irrigation activities. Workers may also operate a tractor, tree spade, pressure wash and provide daily care, incidental water/feed, and maintenance related to animal husbandry. Worker will drive self to grocery store and errands, once a week.

Special Requirements

Must be 18 years old or older. A valid drivers' license required to drive company vehicle. Applicants must have 3 months experience in General Farm Labor, Vegetables and Harvesting/Planting Trees. Workers should come prepared wearing appropriate clothing and footwear for the environmental and working conditions described. Cell phone can only be used during breaks, emergencies, and communicated with supervisor when needed. All tools, supplies, and equipment will be provided at no cost to workers. Workers should expect periods of little/no work and hours/days will vary due to weather conditions beyond the employers control and daily hours may be extended due to planting and harvesting demands. Work is performed outdoors and involves exposure to sun, wind, rain, soil, mud, dust, heat, cold and other natural elements. There is a lifting requirement of 5 - 30 lbs.
