Job description
Job duties include but are not limited to driving and maintaining tractors; planting soybeans; maintaining planter; loading seed into planter; checking depth and population of seed being planted; spraying crops with hooded sprayer; loading water and chemicals into sprayer; maintaining correct GPA and PSI while spraying; maintaining sprayer by cleaning tips and strainers; cutting and maintain roads and paths through property; keeping water ways opened flowing for drainage; driving and maintaining backhoe; checking oil and lubricants in motors on wells; pulling water trailers and loading chemicals onto trailers; discing fields and maintaining disc; cultivating fields and maintaining cultivator; washing and cleaning equipment; laying poly pipe for irrigation or flooding; moving equipment around farm; maintaining culverts and beaver screens throughout the farm; pulling up rows and maintaining hipper; picking up parts from different vendors for equipment maintenance; changing oil and filters on tractors, motors, utvs, and atv; cutting up trees or limbs that have fallen around the farm; turning on pivot and maintaining pivot on farm. Duties also include manual labor. Employees will be required to load seed into planter; load water and chemicals into sprayer; pull water trailers and load chemicals onto trailers; lay poly pipe; cut up and move limbs that have fallen around farm; maintain sprayer by cleaning tips and strainers, maintain backhoe, maintain disc, maintain cultivator, maintain planter, maintain culverts and beaver screens through out farm, maintain hipper, and maintain and wash/clean equipment. The employer reserves the right to increase workers' pay or provide bonuses based on tenure, performance, or other factors that are solely based on the discretion of the employer.
Special Requirements
Employees must have or be able to obtain a drivers license within 30 days of hire and must have basic English literacy skills. Lifting seed and chemicals will require employee to pick up 100 pounds or more and requires stooping and bending over. Summer months of MS can average temperatures in the high 80 and low 90s with high humidity. Driving equipment could require extensive sitting, and laying poly pipe would require walking, repetitive movements, and extensive pulling.
