Job description
Shifts are from 7:00am-2:00pm & 2:00pm-9:00pm, (Monday-Friday), with a one-hour, unpaid, lunch. Shifts are four (4) hours on Saturday, totaling 34 hours per week. Operate tractors to prepare fields; chop weeds by hand for prolonged period of time; manual shovel work; planting and harvesting sugarcane and soybeans; maintain farm vehicles and equipment.; field and shed sanitation duties. Must be able to lift 50 pounds. Perform physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials. Work is done in all kinds of weather. All tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform the duties assigned are provided to the worker, without charge or deposit. Hours may fluctuate due to weather conditions or mechanical breakdowns but will not reduce the 3/4 guarantee over the life of the contract. Possibility of work breakdown will not reduce workers guarantee over the life of the contract.
Special Requirements
Once hired, workers may be required to take a random drug test (at no cost to the worker), as part of fitness for duty and workers safety. Drug testing relates to safety assurance in a working environment. Testing positive or failure to comply with the random drug testing may result in immediate termination from employment.
