Job description

Complete pre-trip inspection to agricultural trucks and trailers. Clean soiled lights, windows, mirrors and reflective tape; add oil and other engine fluids as needed. Operate CDL class grain trucks in order to transport harvested grain commodities from grower fields to grower-owned storage facilities. Service equipment and make in-field repairs. Shop work. Will assist in custom combine operations.

A general work week is Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. However, because of the complexity of the crop conditions workers may be requested to work long days as well as on Saturdays, Sundays or Federal Holidays, depending upon the conditions of the commodities being produced. Therefore, hours above 40 per week may be offered but are not guaranteed.

Special Requirements

3 months experience in the job duties described required. Applicants must be available for the entire contract period. Applicants hired after the start date must be available to begin working where employer is current located and remain for duration of itinerary. Worker must have/be able to obtain and maintain throughout employment a valid driver's license: Class A CDL or equivalent. Must comply with all applicable requirements of USDOT regulations. Must pass a post-employment road test to gauge driving ability. Employer uniformly conducts a post-employment DOT physical, drug screen, background check and motor vehicle records check at no cost to the worker. Must have proficiency in English to communicate, read/comprehend traffic signage, and interact with roadway officials.
