Job description
Job duties include the operation of farm equipment to perform field work such as planting in the spring and harvesting in the fall. Drive trucks with trailers to haul seed, fertilizer and water in the spring and haul grain during harvest. Equipment that employees will be operating includes john deer combines, john deer tractors, grain carts, skid-steer loader, land-roller, and pay-loader. Non CDL farm trucks will be loaded with agricultural products and driven on the farm and to storage facilities. All equipment has GPS in it so employees must be able to work with this type of equipment. Duties also include manual labor such as repairing equipment, servicing equipment, cleaning the shop, cleaning and washing the farm equipment, cleaning out bins when and picking up debris after bad storms. There are few typical days and workers may be required to change duties and/or locations often and engage in various general functions. Daily duties may vary depending on crop, weather, and field conditions. The employer reserves the right to increase workers' pay or provide bonuses based on tenure, performance, or other factors that are solely based on the discretion of the employer.
Special Requirements
Job requires having or being able to obtain a drivers license within 30 days of hire. Basic English literacy skills are required. Drug screening may be done post hire at the employer's expense to ensure the safety of all workers on the farm. Failure of drug testing may result in termination of employment. Operating equipment in the field may require extensive sitting or walking. Smoking is strictly prohibited.
