Farmworker/laborer

Job description

Farm Laborer: Worker will be required to complete the following activities as directed by supervisor: maintain varieties of ornamental trees and shrubs; plant, transplant and harvest nursery stock; prepare soil, fields and tree blocks for planting; tree block maintenance, including mowing, weed whipping, and applying fertilizers; dig and remove planted ornamental trees/plants from field; load and unload trees and supplies manually and with farm equipment; perform general maintenance and clean up, including removing debris, rocks and other trash on the farm, weed control by hand and other methods, and cutting grass; scraping old trees; pruning; staking; irrigation installation and maintenance; drive and operate skid-steer, tractor, auger, mower, tractor loader, or other farm vehicle as directed on farm property only.

Pay will be hourly.

Special Requirements

Job requires worker to complete tasks in planting, harvesting, care and maintenance of field planted nursery stock. Employer will provide instructions and training on specific job duties.

Experience Requirement: 3 verifiable months of commercial agriculture experience required. Applicants must furnish job references from recent employers within the last 3 years establishing acceptable prior experience.

Drug testing done at employers expense and not utilized as a preemployment tool.
