Job description

Workers will be required to do all tasks related to preparing, planting, irrigating, maintaining, and harvesting all crops and fallow ground.
Workers will be required to prepare the fields for planting. They will plant, cultivate, and harvest crops. They will plant crops from seeds. They will till the soil and remove the weeds. This will require the use of tractors, shovels, hoes, and other tools. Workers will be required to irrigate the crops. The workers spread plastic by unrolling and then removing by hand once irrigation is complete. They will maintain irrigation systems, repair leaks in underground drip tape, adjust nozzles and other parts on sprinkler systems, and any other maintenance the systems need. Workers will mow, cut, and weed crops, fallow ground, and ag facilities.

Workers will perform shoveling, hoeing, hauling, ground prep, and other manual tasks, as well as lift, carry, and load/unload products or
supplies. Workers will be required to check and maintain vehicles, equipment, irrigation systems, fences, and cattle operation. With regard to the cattle operation, workers will operate vehicle feeders, and hay trailers to put out hay for cattle.

Workers will also be driving tractors, company vehicles, and other equipment within the farm as needed including but not limited to planters, mowers, plows, sprayers, cultivators, strippers, side by sides, power tools, forklifts, skid steers. Clean and maintain farm buildings, structures, equipment, and work areas. Assist with farm building and field maintenance and repair. Work conditions the workers may encounter: heavy lifting, repetitive movement, extensive walking, bent positions, high winds, extreme temperatures, wet conditions.

Workers who possess a valid driver’s license and meet all applicable legal requirements, including holding a doctor’s certificate as required by 29 CFR § 500.105, may be asked to drive vehicles for transporting workers, goods, or commodities on company business. This task is voluntary, compensable, and not a mandatory job duty. Workers without a valid driver’s license or doctor’s certificate will still be fully eligible for employment and are not disqualified from any other job responsibilities outlined in this application. The employer can and will make alternative arrangements for the transportation of workers should the need arise.
