Job description
Worker will drive trucks to haul crops, supplies or tools to specific locations throughout the day using refrigerated trucks. This also includes maintaining a daily mileage log. Workers will load and unload crops, or containers of vegetables manually or using conceyors, handtrucks or forklifts.
Observe and listen to machinery operation to detect equipment malfuctions. Operate or tend equipment using tractors, combines or irrigation equipment.
Workers may also record information about crops. Harvest fruits and vegetables by hand. Inform farmers or farm managers of crop progress. Clean work areas and maintain grounds and landscaping. Feel plants' leaves and note their coloring to detect the presence of insects or disease. Dig, cut, and transplant seedlings, cuttings, trees, and shrubs. Haul and spread topsoil, fertilizer, and other materials to condition soil, using wheelbarrows or carts and shovels.
Special Requirements
Each worker must have 3 months verifiable experience driving medium duty trucks, CDL not required.
Regular valid driver's license is required.
