Job description
We are a 2500 acre small grain and row crop farm. We primarily grow wheat, barley, corn, soybeans, and canola. Our fleet is a mixed fleet of CaseIH and John Deere equipment. Major pieces of equipment are 2007 model year or newer and well maintained. Work would consist of prepping equipment, planting season labor, harvest season labor, fall tillage, grain hauling, mowing, and other jobs that arise through the season. Some general mechanic work will be performed but most major repair work is performed by dealers. Some farm yard maintenance work can be expected as well. Job duties may include and are not limited to tasks such as: attach/detach implements, clean work areas, guide products on conveyors to regulate flow through machines, haul and spread materials such as but not limited to fertilizer to condition the soil, load crops and drive trucks to transport to and from fields and/or storage locations or facilities, load and unload materials and commodities, load inputs and drive trucks to transport to fields, maintain grounds and landscaping, mix materials, dump solutions or seeds into planter, spreader, sprayer type machinery, operate self propelled machinery, repair and maintain farm vehicles, implements, and mechanical equipment, use hand tools such as such as shovels, trowels, hoes, tampers, pruning hooks, shears, loppers, and knives, wrenches, crow bars, air tools, electric tools.
Equipment such as but not limited to the following will be used/operated by the workers in conjunction with the duties being performed: air seeders, augers, bins, silos, loading and unloading facilities, combines or other harvesting equipment, GPS guidance systems, grain carts, mowers and other landscaping equipment, pickups, cars, etc, planters, self-propelled machinery, semi trucks, skid steers, straight frame trucks, tillage equipment, tractor/trailer combinations, tractors. The workers will be performing the duties to help produce: canola, corn, soybeans, wheat, feed and malt barley. Must speak and understand English.
Special Requirements
Three (3) months recent and verifiable experience required for the job duties listed. Must be able to obtain appropriate drivers license following hire and obtain clean driving record. Be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Once hired, worker may be required to take a random drug test at no cost to the worker. Testing positive for an illegal/controlled substance or failure to comply may result in immediate termination from employment.
