Job description

Steam, clean, and pick whole crabs, weigh, separate processed meat by size or quality & place in containers & ice, debone, pack, cook, break, seafood processing, and preparation of orders for wholesale retail sale. Clean and prepare work areas and equipment to meet all regulations state and federal satisfactory for food safety, load/unload. * May also have occasional use of material handling devices, dump, move, dock work, freeze, shovel crabs, staple and assemble boxes. Work is supervised. 14 days on the job training provided

*Following is an expanded job description regarding load/unloading duties: Workers will assist with unloading raw product (crabs) from boats or trucks and place in processing area or onto tables to be processed. Workers will also assist with loading finished products into refrigerators or freezers for storage. Workers will assist with loading finished products onto trucks for shipment.

Piece rate is paid per pound picked meat or guaranteed hourly rate whichever is higher. Piece rate is established based on wage determination.

Special Requirements

Lift/carry up to 50 pounds. Work extended daily hours and weekends when necessary. Employer paid drug test is Random (post-employment. After 14 days on the job training, workers must pick 29lbs in 8 hours. No infectious diseases; seafood allergies may be fatal.
