Job description
Perform manual labor to landscape or maintain grounds of property using hand or power tools or equipment. Lay sod, mow, trim, plant, water, dig and rake. Operate powered equipment such as mowers, edgers, electric clippers, sod cutters, and pruning shears. Use hand tools such as shovels, rakes, pruning saws, saws, hedge and brush trimmers, and axes. Mow and edge/trim lawns using power mowers and edgers. Care for established lawns by mulching, weeding, and grubbing, and trimming and edging around flower beds, walks, and walls. Water lawns, trees, and plants using portable sprinkler systems, hoses, or watering cans. Follow planned landscaping designs to determine where to lay sod, sow grass, or plant flowers and foliage. Plan and cultivate lawns and gardens. Haul or spread topsoil and spread straw over seeded soil to hold soil in place. Trim and pick flowers, and clean flower beds. Decorate gardens with stones and plants. Rake, mulch, and compost leaves. Prune shrubs and hedges using shears or pruners on the ground. Plant seeds, bulbs, foliage, flowering plants, grass, ground covers, trees, and shrubs and apply mulch for protection using gardening tools. Gather/remove litter. These jobs involve landscaping and maintaining grounds of property. Pre-employment drug testing and background checks will be carried out equally between U.S. workers and H-2B workers at employer’s expense. U.S. workers are tested at a local clinic and H-2B workers are tested before entering the USA. Workers who have a valid driver's license may drive vehicles to transport workers and may be offered additional hours.
Special Requirements
No education or experience required. Requires physical stamina. Work outdoors, in extreme temperatures, and in adverse weather. Must lift and carry 50 lbs. Employer is a drug free workplace. Drug testing is conducted at the employer's expense. Negative results are required before starting work. Background checks are conducted at the employer's expense. Generally we do not employ persons convicted of sex related crimes, violent crimes or drug related crimes. Individual circumstances are taken into consideration. Employer may offer more than the stated work hours depending on weather, business needs, and other conditions. Extreme heat, cold, rain, or drought may affect exact working hours.
