General Laborer – Pool Cleaner/helper

Job description

Assigned to our service department, which covers customer pool maintenance, openings, closings, equipment and care orientations, acid washes, and equipment upgrades; hot tub services. Weekly and biweekly maintenance programs involve chemical balancing, water level maintenance, water surface skimming, tile brushing, vacuuming, skimmer cleaning, and equipment checkups. Drain and clean service involves draining pool, pressure washing walls and floors, and applying an acid to brighten the walls back to their previous luster. Specific duties are below:

• Testing and treating pool water using test strips. Brushing and vacuuming pools. (40%)
• Assist technicians by holding hand tools when servicing and repairing pool pumps, heaters, filters, control boards, etc. (20%)
• Help with prepping pools for plaster which entails scraping the pool down with a flat shovel and pressure washing the inside, vacuuming out and cleaning any debris. (6%)
• Assisting pool renovation saw cutting under tile with a 4-5 inch grinder tool. (5%)
• Assisting with pool renovation to chip old plaster to flare into wall returns, wall lights, and main drain heads to adhere new plaster. (5%)
• Assisting with pressure washing plaster and applying multicoat adhesive so new plaster adheres to new plaster. (4%)
• Occasionally apply interior finish to pool walls and floors. (5%)
• Clean work areas and equipment before and after work completed. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. to carry bags of salt or pool materials that need to be lifted into a truck or carried onto the job site. (15%)

Special Requirements

Schedule will be 7AM-5PM Monday-Friday (42.5 hours per week with lunch breaks). Overtime work optional and available on Saturday 7AM-12PM.
