Job description

Provide preventative maintenance/repair of 67 hotel guestrooms, two one- bedroom suites, 3 cottages, common areas and restaurant. Maintain hotel grounds, flower beds, boxes and hanging planters. Clean and maintain the appearance of the hotel and all other buildings on the property. Repair minor plumbing and electrical issues. Repair defective equipment. Perform painting, drywall repair, tile/grout repair of guest rooms, suites, cottages, common areas and restaurant. Shampoo rugs and upholstery in rooms as needed. Operate tools including sanders, saws, and drills. May occasionally help collect soiled laundry from motel hallways and deliver to laundry room and distribute clean linens from laundry room to linen rooms.

NOTE: REGARDING F.A.5A-H, F.A.6A-6B: A TYPICAL WORK WEEK CONSISTS OF 36 HOURS PER WEEK, OR MORE (OVERTIME IS POSSIBLE, BUT NOT GUARANTEED), WITH DIFFERENT SHIFTS AVAILABLE AS NOTED IN THE SWA JOB DESCRIPTION. (NOTE: 49 HOURS PER WEEK INDICATED ABOVE IS MISLEADING, DUE TO THE ENTRY OF 7 HOURS FOR EACH DAY OF THE WEEK INTO THE FORM,) WHICH IS NECESSARY BECAUSE, WITH SHIFTS TYPICALLY LASTING 5 TO 7 HOURS, DIFFERENT SHIFTS AVAILABLE, AND VARIATIONS IN DAYS OFF, WORKERS MAY END UP WORKING ON ANY DAY OF THE WEEK AND THERE IS NO SPECIFIC DAY(S) WHEN A WORKER IS GUARANTEED NOT TO WORK. (THIS POSITION IS FOR 36 OR MORE (36+) HOURS PER WEEK AS INDICATED IN THE JOB ORDER). SHIFTS AVAILABLE/ASSIGNED: SHIFTS ARE TYPICALLY: 8 AM TO 3 PM AND 7 AM TO 12 PM AND, AS NOTED BELOW, THE WORKER MAY HAVE HOURS OUTSIDE OF THE REGULAR WORKING SCHEDULE IN THE EVENT OF AN EMERGENCY SITUATION. IF SHIFT IS 8 AM TO 3 PM, WORKER RECEIVES A ONE-HOUR UNPAID REST BREAK. SHIFTS WILL VARY AND DAYS OFF WILL BE 1 TO 2 DAYS OFF PER WEEK. WORK MAY BE PERFORMED ON ANY DAY OF THE WEEK FROM MONDAY TO SUNDAY AND DOES INCLUDE WEEKEND AND HOLIDAY HOURS.

Three months experience in maintenance and repair work required. Ability to occasionally lift, push or pull up to 70 lbs. Regularly, lift push or pull up to 35 lbs. Will need to be available outside of regular working hours in the event of emergencies that may arise. If contacted during an emergency, willingness to respond promptly to company requests and communications. Must be able to work a flexible 5-to-6-day schedule. Shifts will vary and days off will be 1 to 2 days off per week (varies). Work may be performed on any day of the week from Monday to Sunday and includes weekend and holiday hours.
