EMPLOYER HAS MEMBERSHIP INTEREST IN THE AMERICAN SUGAR CANE LEAGUE. ON NOVEMBER 7, 2024, THE FINAL RULE WAS DETERMINED UNENFORCEABLE AMONG LEAGUE MEMBERS AFTER A FEDERAL INJUNCTION ISSUED ON SEPTEMBER 18, 2024. THE JOB OPPORTUNITY WOULD PROCEED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THIS APPLICABLE JUDICIAL DECREE.

Job duties include diagnose, adjust, repair, perform routine servicing on equipment and trucks used to harvest and haul a perishable crop; fix and repair metal damaged on equipment; must be able to cut, fabricate, and weld metal; repair/maintain farm vehicles, implements, mechanical equipment and trucks; 3 months previous experience of repairing & maintaining sugarcane harvest equipment required. Job involves extensive sitting, exposure to extreme temperatures, repetitive movements, and frequent stooping. Must be able to lift/carry sufficient weight (at least 50 pounds) to move equipment and material necessary to complete assigned tasks.  The Employer will rely on workers own representations and observations of workers to assess if the workers meet this qualification. Travel may be required to and from field locations; transportation is provided; drug screening may be required upon hire and randomly (paid for by employer). Bonus may be paid at the end of the contract at the discretion of the employer. Base hours offered is 40 hours; additional hours are usually offered during a plentiful season and may include 10-40 additional hours of work depending on the nature of the season.

Las tareas del puesto incluyen diagnosticar, ajustar, reparar y realizar el mantenimiento rutinario de equipos y camiones utilizados para cosechar y transportar cultivos perecederos; arreglar y reparar daños metálicos en equipos; debe ser capaz de cortar, fabricar y soldar metal; reparar/mantener vehículos agrícolas, implementos, equipos mecánicos y camiones; se requieren 3 meses de experiencia previa en reparación y mantenimiento de equipos de cosecha de caña de azúcar. El trabajo requiere estar sentado mucho tiempo, exposición a temperaturas extremas, movimientos repetitivos y agacharse con frecuencia. Debe ser capaz de levantar/cargar suficiente peso (al menos 50 libras) para mover el equipo y el material necesario para completar las tareas asignadas.  El empleador se basará en las declaraciones de los propios trabajadores y en sus observaciones para evaluar si los trabajadores cumplen esta cualificación. Puede ser necesario viajar a y desde los lugares de trabajo; se proporciona transporte; puede ser necesario un control de drogas en el momento de la contratación y de forma aleatoria (pagado por el empleador). A discreción del empleador, pueden pagarse primas al final del contrato. El horario base ofrecido es de 40 horas; las horas adicionales suelen ofrecerse durante una temporada abundante y pueden incluir de 10 a 40 horas adicionales de trabajo en función de la naturaleza de la temporada.
