Job description
Work performed for SOS Farms LLC's farming operation includes: Clean, repair and maintain farm vehicles, implements, and mechanical equipment; Set up, repair, maintain, and operate irrigation equipment including servicing sprinklers and pivots; Operate tractors, tractor-drawn machinery, and primarily John Deere self-propelled machinery (much of which is equipped with GPS) such as chopper, packer, spreader to plow, harrow and fertilize soil, or to plant, cultivate, spray and harvest crops such as corn, wheat; Load inputs and drive trucks to transport to fields, load crops and drive trucks to transport to fields and storage facilities such as elevators, bins, silos, piles/bags; Clean work areas and maintain grounds and landscaping; Haul and spread manure, fertilizer, and other materials to condition soil; While not required for operating or repairing machinery, workers that drive trucks to transport crops from fields to storage may possess a CDL; Must be able to speak and understand English; Work performed for the growers listed includes: Operating self-propelled equipment that reaps, harvests, threshes, swathes, or winnows crops; Performing manual or mechanical adjustments to equipment; Performing safety checks on equipment; Attaching equipment using hand tools; Cleaning work areas; Maintaining and repairing equipment and other tools; Transporting crops to elevators, silos, or other storage areas, and transporting equipment and other tools used for harvesting from one field to another; Must speak and understand English.
Special Requirements
Three (3) months recent and verifiable experience required for the job duties listed. Must be able to obtain appropriate drivers license following hire and obtain clean driving record. Be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Once hired, worker may be required to take a random drug test at no cost to the worker. Testing positive for an illegal/controlled substance or failure to comply may result in immediate termination from employment.
