Job description
As hog confinement construction laborers, the workers will have various tasks. The workers will be responsible for lubricating, cleaning, or repairing machinery, equipment, and tools. Additionally, they will play a crucial role in signaling equipment operators to ensure proper alignment, movement, or adjustment of machinery, equipment, or materials. Reading plans, instructions, and specifications is essential for determining work activities. Precision is key, as they will need to measure, mark, or record openings and distances to layout areas where construction work is scheduled. Ensuring safety, the workers will clean and prepare construction sites, eliminating potential hazards. Excavation tasks, such as digging ditches or trenches, backfilling excavations, and leveling earth to grade specifications, will be part of their responsibilities. Loading, unloading, and identifying building materials, machinery, or tools, and distributing them according to project plans or specifications is crucial. Workers will also be involved in positioning, joining, aligning, or sealing structural components like concrete wall sections or pipes. Adherence to green certified construction practices is emphasized, including implementing waste management procedures, identifying materials for reuse, and installing erosion or sedimentation control mechanisms. The workers will also contribute to finishing touches, such as smoothing or finishing freshly poured cement or concrete using floats, trowels, screeds, or powered cement finishing tools. Moreover, they will handle tasks like placing, consolidating, or protecting case-in-place concrete or masonry structures. Concrete-related activities include mixing, pouring, or spreading concrete using portable cement mixers, and tending machines that pump concrete, grout, cement, sand, plaster, or stucco through spray guns for application to ceilings or walls. Special Requirements
Welding experience is preferred but not required. Must be able to lift 75 pounds for 75 yards. Post-employment drug test paid for by employer when applicable.
