Job description

Crop: We farm 10,000 acres of cotton, corn, hay, milo, soybeans and wheat. All harvesting is done on our farms. Employees will operate forage swathers and balers (large, round and square bales and small square bales); operate combines and grain buggies with GPS in the harvest of corn, milo, soybeans, wheat and other seed crops as planted; and operate CS 770 cotton balers in the harvest of cotton. Employees must be able to use GPS tracking, and have computer skills to log in, record and maintain field specific information, as well as operate the automated machinery. Employees will assist with all aspects of harvesting these crops, and complete general farm duties as assigned. Employees will need to complete routine repairs and maintenance on equipment. Maintenance on all machines twice daily is required.

Cattle: We operate a beef heifer operation. We contract with the growers in August and receive the bred heifers in August. We turn them out on forage pasture and graze them until they begin calving in mid-December to Mid-February. Then they are shipped back to the contracted Owners Employees duties include: Unloading, vaccinating, branding, and ear tagging upon arrival. Employees will visually check calves each day for sickness, separating them if found, and treating. Employees will load and distribute calves to appropriate fields, move hay for feeding, and set out mineral, salt and protein blocks. Employees will gather cattle at time of shipment, load trucks, remove temporary fencing, and complete general farm duties as assigned. Employer may provide performance bonuses at the end of the contract at the employer’s discretion.

Special Requirements

Job requires extensive walking, sitting, pushing, pulling, repetitive movements, frequent stooping and exposure to extreme outdoor temperatures. Employer will conduct post-hire, random drug tests at no cost to the employee to enforce a drug free workplace policy. Failing a drug test will result in termination. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Job requires a regular drivers license within 30 days of hire.
