Job description
Semi-Truck Mechanic. Knowledgeable about many different engines. Diagnose and repair semi-truck, small gas engines and vehicles.
Dismantle defective machines for repair, using hand tools. Record details of repairs made and parts used. Reassemble machines and equipment following repair, testing operation and making adjustments, as necessary. Clean and lubricate parts. Test and replace electrical components and wiring, using test meters, soldering equipment, and hand tools. Tune or overhaul engines. Examine and listen to equipment, read inspection reports, and confer with customers to locate and diagnose malfunctions. Repair or replace defective parts, using hand tools, milling and woodworking machines, lathes, welding equipment, grinders, or saws.
Mechanics work on the farm to support vehicles and agricultural equipment used in the custom combining and harvesting operation.
Special Requirements
12 months engine repair experience. Efficient and diligent abilities to diagnose and repair. Workers must have a valid, insurable drivers license or be eligible to apply for same at no cost to the worker. Employer reserves the right to conduct employer-paid upon-suspicion drug testing. Any employee who declines to take or fails a drug test will be immediately terminated.
