Job description

Mechanical Harvester Workers must be able to work outside, mostly at night; able to lift 50 pounds. Harvester machine drivers – drive and clean harvester machines daily. Harvester workers – be able to ride on rear of the machine, stack empty trays onto the machine and move full trays of fruit onto trailers pulled by the harvester as it is moving through the fields. Stack full berry trays onto pallets for transport to receiving porch. Field Work: Workers will use hand tools to assist in pulling and digging weeds, irrigation pipe repair, and repairing plant rows at times when mechanical harvesting is not possible. Weigh Station operators – utilize scales to weigh trays of fruit, print out receipts, stack full trays on pallets, maintain ice water and rest station, be able to lift 50 pounds. Tractor drivers move full pallets of fruit to the receiving porch and return stacks of empty trays to the weigh station in the fields. Operate multi-purpose vehicle to transport workers from housing to farm site, around the farm and to grocery and banking facilities as appropriate.

Special Requirements

Monday-Saturday, Average 40 hrs/wk. Schedule & start/end times will vary dependent on qty of fruit to be processed, conditions of the crop, & weather. May be requested to work addl hours per day & weekends. Approx hours during harvest season: 9AM-5PM & 5PM-1AM. Drug testing during employment for cause. All drug testing is performed without regard to an employees citizenship or immigration status, and all testing is paid for by the company. No experience required, will train.
