Job description
The workers will be picking blackberries manually in the fields and placing them into clam
shells and into boxes in the fields. The blackberries will be picked according to size, shape,
maturity level, and/or ripeness. Also, workers will be performing field maintenance, including
but not limited to installing irrigation lines, pulling weeds, laying mulch, staking, and pruning
blackberry bushes in the fields. Workers need to be available to work the entire period; 35
hours per week. Pay rate for picking blackberries will be on two different piece rates: Piece
rate #1: $3.25 per box of 12, 6-oz clam shells, with a minimum wage guarantee of $16.08 per
hour; Piece rate #2: $4.25 per box of 8, 12-oz clam shells, with a minimum wage guarantee of
$16.08 per hour. All tools will be provided at no cost to the workers.
Special Requirements
Must be able to withstand extreme weather conditions, including hot/cold/humid/rain.
