Job description
Operate self-propelled equipment that reaps, harvests, threshes, swathes, or winnows crops; perform manual or mechanical adjustments to equipment; perform safety checks on equipment; maintain and repair equipment and other tools; transport crops to elevators, silos, or other storage areas, and transport equipment and other tools used for harvesting from one field to another. On fields controlled/operated by Kuntz Farms: Participate in the inspection, grading, sorting, storage, and post-harvest treatment of crops such as working with bins and augers to load carts and trailers; Repair and maintain farm vehicles, implements, and mechanical equipment; Operate tractors, tractor-drawn machinery, and self-propelled machinery (much of which is equipped with GPS) such as planter, sprayer, tillage tool to plow, harrow and fertilize soil, or to plant, cultivate, spray and harvest crops; Load inputs and drive trucks to transport to fields, load crops and drive trucks to transport to fields and storage facilities such as elevators, bins, silos, piles/bags; workers that drive truck to transport crops from fields to storage may possess a CDL. Clean work areas and maintain grounds and landscaping; Haul and spread manure, fertilizer, and other materials to condition soil; Mix materials, dump solutions or seeds into planter or sprayer machinery; Attach implements using hand tools.
Special Requirements
Three (3) months recent and verifiable experience required for the job duties listed. Must be able to obtain appropriate drivers license following hire and obtain clean driving record. Be able to lift up to 75 lbs. Once hired, worker may be required to take a random drug test at no cost to the worker. Testing positive for an illegal/controlled substance or failure to comply may result in immediate termination from employment.
