Job description

Job Duties: Work under this contract will consist of harvesting various row crop vegetables such as Onion, Bell peppers, Cherries.

Packing and Loading:
Sort harvested produce by size and quality in the field before packing into designated containers.
Load filled containers or pallets onto trucks or trailers for transportation.

Field Maintenance:
Perform general maintenance tasks such as clearing debris, cleaning equipment, and ensuring fields remain accessible for irrigation and harvesting tasks.
Use hand tools such as long-handled hoes or shovels to remove weeds and unwanted plants from crop rows.
Ensure that thinning and weeding are conducted carefully to avoid damage to crops.

Irrigation Tasks:
Set up, monitor, and maintain irrigation systems, including sprinklers, drip lines, and flood irrigation setups.
Move and adjust portable sprinklers and irrigation pipes to ensure proper water coverage across fields.
Repair and replace damaged lines or equipment to maintain optimal irrigation efficiency.

Tractor and Forklift Operation:
Safely operate tractors, forklifts, and other farm equipment as needed for transporting materials, preparing fields, and supporting irrigation tasks.
Perform routine maintenance checks on equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
Adhere to safety protocols and report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns immediately.

General Labor:
Perform tasks such as planting, cleaning fields of debris, weeding, harvesting, and other crop-related activities as needed.
Follow all H-2A program regulations and safety guidelines during daily operations.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment to ensure the safety of all team members.

Special Requirements

Variable weather conditions. All work must be performed in a manner that exhibits generally Accepted Practices (GAP) and the utmost food safety at all times. The candidate must have at least 1-month of experience in agriculture, specifically related to, Onion, Bell peppers, Cherries to avoid crop damage and personal injury. Irrigating crops, setting and removing sprinklers, running wheel lines, driving equipment, operating pivots, flood irrigating, moving portable sprinklers, and installing drip tape. Verifiable work experience is required.
The worker must attend the required orientation, which time will be compensated.
