Temporary Seasonal Position: Fruit Packer | SOC Code: 53-7064

There are three possible work shifts, including an overnight shift. Employer will advise workers of specific schedule prior to the workweek. 48+ Crops: Blueberries, Apples, Sweet Cherries, Tart Cherries. Duties may include:
Perform and monitor activities associated with the correct dispensing of raw materials for daily production, assisting with loading of apples to the flume and removal of empty boxes from the dump tank. Sort product as it
crosses over sort
belt for quality control: looking for defects by utilizing electronic sorting equip., assist with changeovers to ensure no cross contamination. Communicate with other operators or supervisors in case of a defect, properly clean
and sanitize machinery, utensils, equip. used to process/store produce, handle cleaning chemicals, support machines: setting up, adjusting, and operating various machines and equipment to ensure quality product is shipped
per product orders and customer requirements, support receiving department by maintaining wooden boxes, receiving and verifying loads on delivery trucks, grade and pressure test product and take daily inventory & other
related Fruit Packer activities as per SOC/OES 53-7064 (onetonline.org). On-the-job training provided. Static strength; exert max muscle force to lift, push, pull, unload, carry objects up to 40 lbs; may climb, walk, stand,
reach, balance, sit, stoop, bend, squat, wash, clean: equip, grounds, area. Tools, supplies, and equipment provided at no cost to worker. Employer
guarantees 3/4 of contract. Work indoors, exposed to extreme temperatures, hot or cold; hours may vary (+/-); possible downtimes and/or extended hours. Dependable: fulfill obligations. Attn. to detail: complete work tasks.
Employer provided housing available to those who cannot reasonably return to their residence within the same day. No cell phone use during work hours. Must be 18 years of age. Drug/alcohol/tobacco free work zone.
Worker has 3 days from date of hire to show legal authorization to work in the United States. Cash advances may apply at employer discretion. Workers may be required to drive a truck to haul workers and/or supplies.
Special Requirements
WORKERS MUST HAVE 3 MONTHS EXPERIENCE IN FRUIT PACKING . APPLICANTS
MUST BE ABLE TO
FURNISH JOB REFERENCES ESTABLISHING ACCEPTABLE PRIOR EXPERIENCE.
WORKERS MUST BE AT LEAST 18 YEARS OLD. Given that the demands of agricultural production are unpredictable and driven by factors such as weather, crop conditions,
market
demands, and numerous other factors, it is impossible to predict with any degree of accuracy how many hours per day or per week a
worker will work or what percentage of time will be dedicated to specific tasks. Workers may be requested to work on their Sabbath or
Federal holidays, but are not required to do so. Due to the unpredictable nature of agricultural work, workers may be offered more or
less hours than the estimated hours per day and more or less hours than the estimated hours per week.
