Job description

We are a cow/calf, feeder/stocker, yearling, and hay operation. ~500 mother cows, ~1000 yearlings on grass, ~2,000 ton of alfalfa hay. 3 pivots, flood, side roll irrigation. Newer and older equipment. New Holland and JD, Ford versatile. 2 Vemeer balers, vemeer rake. We need someone to be able to farm, put up high quality alfalfa/grass hay. Mechanic, machine maintenance. Everything else that comes along with an overall farm/ranch hand. Feed/process calves in the fall when we receive them. Fence-maintain and build. Weld when needed. Job duties may include and are not limited to tasks such as: apply products such as fertilizers, pesticides, growth inhibitors, etc, attach/detach implements, clean work areas, haul and spread materials such as but not limited to fertilizer to condition the soil, inform farm managers of plants or crops progress, load crops and drive trucks to transport to and from fields and/or storage locations or facilities, load and unload materials and commodities, load inputs and drive trucks to transport to fields, maintain grounds and landscaping, mix materials, dump solutions or seeds into planter, spreader, sprayer type machinery, operate self propelled machinery, position boxes/bags at ends of machinery to catch products, remove and close full containers, record information about crops, regulate conditions, repair and maintain farm vehicles, implements, and mechanical equipment, repair farm buildings, fences, and other structures, set up repair, maintain, and operate specialized equipment, tend to livestock by feeding, medicating, general care, grading, sorting, working, placing identification on, or relocating, tilling soil, transplanting, weeding, thinning, pruning crops, trap and destroy pests, use hand tools such as shovels, trowels, hoes, tampers, pruning hooks, shears, loppers, and knives, use hand tools such as wrenches, crow bars, air tools, electric tools, work in extreme temperatures. Equipment such as but not limited to the following will be used/operated by the workers in conjunction with the duties being performed: augers, bins, silos, loading and unloading facilities, bailers and other hay equipment, combines or other harvesting equipment, dirt moving equipment, GPS guidance systems, forklift, irrigation equipment, manure spreading equipment, mowers and other landscaping equipment, pickups, cars, etc, planters, self-propelled machinery, skid steers, sprayers, spreaders, straight frame trucks, swathers, bailers, and other hay equipment, tillage equipment, tractors. Speak and understand english. The workers will be performing the duties to help produce: cattle, hay, silage.

Special Requirements

Three (3) months recent and verifiable experience required for the job duties listed. Must be able to obtain appropriate drivers license following hire and obtain clean driving record. Be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Once hired, worker may be required to take a random drug test at no cost to the worker. Testing positive for an illegal/controlled substance or failure to comply may result in immediate termination from employment.
