Farmer Manager

Job description

The production manager oversees the production of greens (salad mix, arugula, spinach etc), microgreens and flowers for school meals, grocery, veggie box subscriptions and more. They will work with the farm owner to make production decisions, follow the farm production schedule and oversee crew daily tasks. Activities include bed prep, transplanting, weeding, irrigation, harvest, washing and packing produce, building, driving deliveries, managing crew members and delivering farm education through farm field trips and classroom visits. This position will work 7am-3pm (with potential for after-hour deliveries) Monday-Friday 4/15-12/1/2025 . If production manager excels, they may be offered employment with the farm for the next growing season.

- Preps beds, Plants, cultivates, harvests, cleans, packs and delivers produce
- Soil fertility management
- Maintains professional relationships with buyers for robust farm sales.
- Supports with maintenance and care of farm equipment, CCOF certification and record keeping.
- Oversees crew daily field work.
- Participates in farm to school education with fieldtrips.
- Potential to help with floral design.

Job duties will comply with O*Net SOC 45-1011.

Special Requirements

Must have at least 2 years of experience farming vegetables on a commercial farm with preference for organic farming experience. Must have management experience and aptitude. See job description.
