Job description

SHUTTLE DRIVER: Employee may drive a 78-passenger bus or a 20-passenger minibus to transport workers over the road. Employee must possess a valid standard driver’s license. Employee picks up workers from different housing sites/pickup points and takes them to an assigned work site and at the end of the workday, takes them back to the housing site/pickup point. Employee will also work in the assigned crew at the assigned worksite. Employee will transport workers once a week to local grocery stores or businesses to run errands. Employee will obey all traffic laws and comply with state and federal regulations. Employee will follow procedures and regulations to ensure passenger safety. Employee will perform regular maintenance inspections to ensure the vehicle is working properly and report any issues promptly. Employee will keep the vehicle clean.

In accordance with company policy, employees may be requested to submit to random drug or alcohol tests at no cost to the worker. Failure to comply with the request or testing positive may result in immediate termination.

PRUNING: Pruning numerous varieties of apple, pear, apricot, blueberry, and cherry trees according to established company procedures based on the differences in the treatment of different varieties. Work will be performed on trees for long periods of time using a variety of pruning equipment, including hand shears, hand loppers, power pruners, chainsaws, hand saws, and 10-foot or 12-foot ladders. Pruning may be done from the ground or a ladder up to 12 feet in height or from a motorized platform. Workers may be required to selectively prune only trees of a certain size and color as instructed by the crew boss.

The Employer attests that all workers will be properly trained in the Worker Protections Standard (WPS) by qualified WPS trainers who have completed an EPA-approved Train-the-Trainer course pursuant to the Oregon Department of Agriculture.

Special Requirements

B2) Worker must possess 12 months of driving and tree fruit experience.
4a) Worker must possess valid drivers license
4b) Worker must have clean driving abstract
4c) Worker must pass criminal background check
4d) Worker will be drug-screened (random and post-employment)
4e) When lifting loads heavier than 60 pounds, use two or more people to lift the load.
