Job description

The Nursery and Greenhouse Worker will plant, spray, weed, fertilize, water, and prune plants, shrubs, and trees using gardening tools; operate tractors, tractor-drawn machinery, and self-propelled machinery to plow, harrow, and fertilize soil, or to plant, cultivate, spray, and maintain plant health; identify plants, pests, and weeds to determine the selection and application of pesticides and fertilizers; load plants and related materials into trucks for delivery and installation at residential and commercial properties; transport and install flowers, trees, and shrubs at customer locations; clean work areas and maintain grounds; regulate greenhouse conditions and indoor and outdoor irrigation systems; dig, cut, and transplant seedlings, cuttings, trees, and shrubs; record information about plants and plant growth; dig, rake, and screen soil; move containerized shrubs, plants, and trees using wheelbarrows or tractors; haul and spread topsoil, fertilizer, peat moss, and other materials to condition soil using wheelbarrows, carts, and shovels.

Special Requirements

The Nursery and Greenhouse Workers need to be able to lift and carry 50 lbs. Additionally, the worker must be in good health to perform labor activities, no limitation to bend down or carry weight (under regulated laws or norms of weight and safety procedures), and no limitation on extensive sitting, walking, bending, stooping, pushing, or pulling. Must follow instructions correctly as well as company rules.
