Job description

EB Harvesting LLC will provide and manage agricultural farm labor services on crop fields to be cultivated, maintained on their growing process, harvested and transport goods from farm to packing houses or green houses to storage seeds, sort and pack crops at the packing house.

All the following job duties are subject to change due to crop and weather conditions and can be performed walking long distances in extreme hot, wet & cold temperatures.

Percentage job duties employment distribution: General farm labor services (planting, loading, unloading, cutting, harvesting, etc.) -70%; Bucket unload - 20 %; Driving agricultural equipment - 5%; Other activities 5%.

Tobacco Planting & Maintaining activities: Maintain greenhouse while tobacco plants are growing and are ready to be transplanted into the fields, on the transplant process workers will transplant tobacco plants into the ground by machine, once fields are planted employees will maintain fields pulling weeds that may be interfering on the tobacco growing process, workers repeatedly from time to time or as it is needed will sucker and topping tobacco plants by hand.

Tobacco Harvesting: Tobacco fields will be harvested by machine and hand (workers will pull 3 or 4 leaves at a time from each plant and put it in a trailer.) Once it reaches the barn, the worker will place the tobacco in boxes to prepare for the heating process. After the curing process, the worker will remove the tobacco, sort and bale it by filling a metal container to desired weight that will compact the leaves together into bales.

Sweet Potatoes Planting, Maintaining & Hand Harvesting: Workers will cut plant from plant beds and green house, transplant plants into the soil by hand and machine, once fields are planted workers will maintain pulling weeds that may be interfering with the sweet potatoes maturing process, once the sweet potatoes are ready to be harvested workers will be repeatedly walking long distances in hot or cold weather conditions, harvesting by hand sweet potatoes into buckets; these buckets will be carried to a truck in the fields with empty bin boxes, at the end of the day employees should wash/ clean the buckets, wash/clean hydration stations or coolers and refill with clean water or ice.

Soybean/Wheat Field Weeding: Workers will walk through the soybean/wheat fields, raking, shoveling and by hand pulling weeds that may be interfering on the crop growing process.

Special Requirements

EB Harvesting may conduct a Drug/Alcohol test or conduct a criminal background post-employment at the employer's expense. Per the Department of Labor O-Net survey for job code 45.2092.02, Job Zone 1, SVP <4.0, the employer requires 1-month verifiable harvesting experience.

To perform any job duty that may require employees to drive any agricultural equipment vehicle, the driver must possess proper and current valid driver license class C as it is required in North Carolina, or its foreign equivalent.

Workers must have a valid drivers license or obtain one within 30 days.
