Job description
Preharvest, harvest and post harvest preparation/caring for/harvest and clean up of crops. including but not limited to weeding, moving irrigation, hand and or machine harvesting, packaging, loading trucks. Job duties may include and are not limited to tasks such as: be able to handle working in high humidity, clean work areas, direct and monitor work during planting and harvesting, guide products on conveyors to regulate flow through machines, hand pick and manually grade crops, inform farm managers of plants or crops progress, load and unload materials and commodities, participate in the inspection, grading, sorting, storage, and post-harvest treatment of crops, position boxes/bags at ends of machinery to catch products, remove and close full containers, repair farm buildings, fences, and other structures, tilling soil, transplanting, weeding, thinning, pruning crops, use hand tools such as shovels, trowels, hoes, tampers, pruning hooks, shears, loppers, and knives, work in extreme temperatures. Equipment such as but not limited to the following will be used/operated by the workers in conjunction with the duties being performed: combines or other harvesting equipment, irrigation equipment, tractors. The workers will be performing the duties to help produce: corn, vegetables.
Special Requirements
Three (3) months recent and verifiable experience required for the job duties listed. Must be able to obtain appropriate drivers license following hire and obtain clean driving record. Be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Once hired, worker may be required to take a random drug test at no cost to the worker. Testing positive for an illegal/controlled substance or failure to comply may result in immediate termination from employment.
