Job description
Load and unload crops or containers of materials, manually or using conveyors, hand trucks, forklifts, or transfer augers. Mix specified materials or chemicals, and dump solutions, powders, or seeds into planter or sprayer machinery. Observe and listen to machinery operation to detect equipment malfunctions. Manipulate controls to set, activate, and adjust mechanisms on machinery. Operate or tend equipment used in agricultural production, such as tractors, combines, and irrigation equipment. Adjust, repair, and service farm machinery and notify supervisors when machinery malfunctions. Drive trucks to haul crops, supplies, tools, or farm workers. Tow harvesting equipment. Operate pickup trucks, pump engines and tractors, and other ag equipment to apply fertilizer/manure to corn and bean fields. Load and wash agricultural equipment.
Special Requirements
Minimum of 3 months of experience is required. Must be able to obtain a driver's license within 30 days of hire. Lift and carry items
weighing up to 60 pounds. The worker will be exposed to extreme temperatures. Extensive sitting is required. Extensive walking is
required. Repetitive movements is required. Wage rate may increase with verifiable experience. Employer may reward exceptional
work with monetary or other benefits in addition to those listed here in his sole discretion.
