Job description

Feed, water, herd livestock to pastures for grazing; examine cattle to detect diseases and/or injuries, doctor cattle as needed per disease or injury, assist with delivery and shipping of cattle, assist with vaccination, castration and branding of cattle during processing of cattle. Herding cattle in pens or manually restraining cattle on the range, fence work, repairs of water lines/water troughs, operate some machinery to feed cattle, clean pens, check and herd cattle on atv. Exposure to extreme temp, repetitive movements, extensive pushing, pulling walking and frequent stooping Involves lifting and carrying of 50 lbs frequently
The hours listed represent the normal work schedule. Due to the nature of the duties and weather it is the prevailing practice to work substantially more, less or different hours than those listed, sometimes for extended periods of time. When the number of hours for a week exceeds the number listed then, the worker may be offered, but not required, to work more hours. Employer may request, but not require, workers to work more than the stated daily hours and/or on the weekend, a worker’s Sabbath or federal holidays. Worker must report to work at designated time and place each day. Daily or weekly work schedule may vary due to weather, sunlight, temperature, crop conditions, and other factors. Employer will notify workers of any change to start time.
Employer will furnish at no cost, all tools including but not limited to: rope, tack, gloves, veterinary equipment, hand tools, protective gear, bedding etc. as well as effective electronic means of communication (cell phone and 2 way radio) for work and emergency purposes. If worker is in an area where electronic communication will not work, the employer or person designated by employer will contact the worker in regular pre-scheduled visits twice daily.

Special Requirements

Experience as Range Worker May be required to submit a post hire employer paid criminal background check. Failure to comply or felony convictions that the employer reasonably believes will impair safety of others on the worksite will result in immediate termination.
