Job description
Duties may include: Operate farm equipment, maintain farm equipment, care for and process livestock, feeding, watering, herding, grazing, branding, weighing, and loading livestock. Maintain records on animals, examine animals to detect diseases and injuries. Maintain fences and farm structures, turn compost piles, load soil, operate fire box, mow and cultivate fields. Working knowledge of basic hand tools. Ability to operate composting equipment in a safe and efficient manner. Assist in birth deliveries, administer medications, vaccinations and insecticides as appropriate. Monitor and maintain health of livestock, irrigation of crop fields which involves maintaining and building current or prospective irrigation systems, clearing and preparing fields for crops & other related Farm Worker activities as per SOC/OES 45-2093 (onetonline.org). Possible weekend/holiday work.
Special Requirements
Must be 18 years of age. Worker has 3 days from date of hire to show proof of legal authorization to work in the United States. Drug/alcohol/tobacco free work zone. Static strength; exert max muscle force to lift, push, pull, unload, carry objects up to 50lbs; may climb, walk, stand, reach, balance, sit, stoop, bend, squat, wash, clean: equip, grounds, area. All applicants must be able, willing and qualified to perform work described and must be available for the entire period specified. Variable weather conditions may apply.
