Job description
Workers will be required to perform a variety of duties as described in SOC Code 45-2092: Farmworkers and Laborers, Crop, Nursery, and Greenhouse, including:
- Recording information about crops, such as pesticide use, yields, or costs.
- Participating in the inspection, grading, sorting, storage, and post-harvest treatment of crops.
- Cleaning, repairing, and maintaining farm vehicles, implements, and mechanical equipment.
- Operating tractors, tractor-drawn machinery, and self-propelled machinery (much of which is equipped with GPS) to plow, harrow, fertilize soil, and plant, cultivate, spray, or harvest crops.
- Loading agricultural products into trucks without overfilling or underfilling the bed or trailer, and driving to market or storage facilities.
- Cleaning work areas and maintaining grounds and landscaping.
- Regulate conditions.
Special Requirements
Three (3) months of recent and verifiable experience in the listed job duties is required. The worker must be able to obtain an appropriate non-CDL drivers license after hire and maintain a clean driving record. Workers must be able to lift up to 75 lbs. Upon hire, workers may be required to undergo random drug testing at no cost to them. A positive test result for illegal or controlled substances, or failure to comply, may result in immediate termination of employment.
