Job description
Duties may include: Cook/prepare variety of foods - meats, vegetables, hors d'oeuvres or desserts, according to customers' orders or supervisors' instructions. Season and cook food according to recipes or personal judgment and experience. Observe & record temperature of food & food storage areas such as refrigerators & freezers. Wash, peel, & cut various foods, such as fruits & vegetables, to prepare for cooking or serving. Weigh, measure and mix ingredients according to recipes. Portion & wrap food or place it directly on plates for service to patrons. Substitute or assist other cooks during emergencies or rush periods. Receive & store food supplies, equipment, & utensils in refrigerators or cupboards. Store food in designated containers & storage areas to prevent spoilage. Clean & sanitize work area, equipment, utensils, dishes, or silverware & other related Cook activities as per SOC/OES 35-2014 (onetonline.org). Standard/Expected Schedule: Monday-Friday 2:00PM-10:00PM. Offering 40+ (plus) hours per week; not including applicable lunch and/or breaks. Possible weekend/holiday work. Start/end times, offered hours and/or overtime could vary as they may be dependent upon other factors such as project/schedule/service needs, weather, and commute time between worksites (if applicable). Overtime possible, but not required or guaranteed. At Employer’s sole discretion: possible raises and/or bonuses based on individual factors such as work performance or skill (not guaranteed).
Special Requirements
Must be 18 due to equipment use. Must show proof of legal authorization to work in the United States. Drug/alcohol/tobacco free work zone. Perform physical activities: such as lift, balance, walk, stoop, handle, position, move, manipulate materials use static strength to exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull, carry objects up to 40lbs. All applicants must be able, willing and qualified to perform work described and must be available for the entire period specified. Hours may fluctuate based on tourism peaks and valleys throughout the season (+/-), possible downtime and/or overtime.
