Job description
Duties may include; drive and operate farm machinery to plant, cultivate, maintain and harvest vegetables. Workers are required to set up, dismantle and maintain irrigation systems. Workers must be able to give and receive detailed instructions. Tobacco duties may include but are not limited to; applying fertilizer, apply general use or any restricted use pesticide under the direct supervision of a certified applicator, cutting, spearing, hanging crop, taking down and stripping off leaves and bundling. Must be extremely careful not to damage leaves. Might drive tractor for loading and unloading trailers into barns. Must be able to handle 40 lbs 20ft off the ground while standing on wooden poles. May set up, operate, and repair farm machinery. May participate in irrigation activities. All work is physically demanding and is performed all weather conditions.
Special Requirements
Workers will need 3 (three) month of experience in vegetable and tobacco production. Exposure to extreme temp, lifting 50 lbs, repetitive movements, extensive pushing and pulling, extensive walking, frequent stooping.
