Job description
Physical labor is needed for farm activities involved in production and harvesting of nursery, fruits and vegetables (apples, peaches, plums, cherries, pumpkins, and sweet corn) . Alternative work can also include the following activities: picking rocks, clean dead trees, trim around fence rows, maintaining building, weed eating, cleaning machinery, building, of the facilities related to the farm operation, this is physical employment for the harvesting of all fruits and vegetables on the Jackson Orchard and Nursery. This will also entail other job duties assigned daily by the manager such as mulching around trees, removing dead limbs and other debris from the harvest areas. Drug screens can be done post-hire for reasonable cause and at the expense of the employer.
Special Requirements
Ability to climb a ladder and pick fruit from the trees that are as high as 12 to 14 feet. The fruits are placed in containers furnished by the employer to be handled with care to not bruise the product in any way.
