Job description
All applicants must be able, willing and qualified to perform the work described in the job order and must be available for the entire period of employment specified in Section A. Box 3 & 4. Stonewood Farm, Inc. is an open range operation calling for a temporary need for workers for processing in July and September and for the growing and slaughtering season of October through December. The occupation is not year-round because the employer's need is temporary. The workers will assist in feeding, cleaning and raising the poultry for slaughter. The entire operation is located on the farm and the number of poultry processed is 100% raised by Stonewood Farm, Inc. Workers will perform all facets of poultry cleaning, slaughtering and dressing of fowl in preparation for the market. Workers will clean to USDA specifications any and all rooms and equipment including blood pans, rendering barrels, floor, toilet and walls. The work assigned will be physically demanding, bending, stooping and kneeling for long periods of time will be required. Workers must be able to lift and carry 80 pounds frequently. Workers will: catch and move fowl to area for processing; hang live poultry in shackles and perform bleed-out operations; perform knife cuts; remove, separate & prepare viscera; debone and grind meat; and apply labels and record weights. Workers must be able to operate agricultural equipment safely, and work in various extreme weather conditions. Workers must be available to work 8-hour shifts between the hours of 7:00am - 7:00pm from Monday through Friday and may be required to work 4 hours shift within the hours of 7:00am - 7:00pm on Saturday and may require to work 2 hours shift between the hours of 7:00am - 7:00pm on Sunday. Workers will be given a 60-minute lunch break which is staggered between 11am - 1pm as decided by the workers. Workers may choose where to eat their lunch and return to work after their 60 minutes are up. Workers will also receive a 15-minute break in the morning and a 15-minute break in the afternoon as agreed upon by the worker and management. The daily or weekly work schedules may vary due to weather, sunlight, temperature, crop conditions, and other factors. Employers will notify workers of any change to the schedule. The employer will provide 1 day of training and allow 2 days of work for the workers to satisfactorily perform duties described in this job description. The employer will furnish to workers without cost all tools and equipment required to perform all duties assigned. Workers should report for work with their own suitable clothing and must be able to take directions in simple English.
