Job description
Workers may be asked to operate vehicles, farm equipment, cotton pickers, sweet potatoes, and drive all tractors in the fields. Check vehicles to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order. The ability of an employee to safely operate machinery and vehicles will be left up to the discretion of management. Simple repair, maintain, and clean all farm and mechanical equipment prior to and after use. Drive, operate or use the following farming equipment and tools: self –propelled combine and sprayer, 4x4 Tractor, Front wheel assist tractor, 2 wd tractor, forklift, Tele handler, backhoe, track hoe, crane, pickup truck, ATV side by side, bulldozer, plasma, cutter, drill, lathe, air seeder, twin row planter, single row planter, 3 pt. drill, field cultivators, Kelley tools, dirt buggy, dike plow, roller, mower, 3 pt. blade, grain cart, roll a cone, chisel plow, multi grater, misc. hand tools, and tow harvesting equipment, drive and operate self-propelled combine and sprayer. Attach farm implements: hipper, disk, dual, chisel plow, potato transplanter, bushhawg, grain buggy, skid steer, forklift, potato digger, water wagon to water plants, trailers, plant topper, field cultivator, box blade, and any other related farm equipment. Workers will operate regular pickup truck and F350 Fuel/Water trucks & trailers, they weigh 24,000 lbs, driven for 10 miles on the farm with no CDL required. Workers may pull weeds out of the fields.. May be asked to drive workers to fields, housing, and grocery stores.
Special Requirements
Workers must be at least 21 years or older. Three (3) month experience in agricultural farm equipment, driving trucks, tractors and trailers. The company may conduct a criminal background check on all new employees at employers expense. Valid drivers license is required to drive company vehicle. All tools, supplies, and equipment will be provided at no cost to workers. Must be able to work with minimum supervision. Workers must be able to climb, stand, sit, stoop, squat, kneel, crouch, bend (from the waist), push, pull, reach, and lift 10 - 80 lbs. Work is performed in outdoor agricultural fields and involves exposure to sun, wind, rain, soil, mud, dust, heat, cold, and other natural elements. Workers should come prepared wearing appropriate clothing and footwear for the environmental and working conditions described. Cell phone can only be used during breaks, emergencies, and communicated with supervisor when needed. Safety training on trucks and equipment will be provided, if
