Job description
Drives and operates one or more farm machines such as tractors and mechanical harvesters
to perform specific farm activity such as harvesting wild blueberries. Drives tractor and operate
designed towed machine,(95%). Prepares harvesting machine by adjusting necessary items
on the equipment and mechanisms,(3%). Refuels engine, lubricates machine parts and
monitors operations to ensure optimum performance,(1%). Drives truck to haul materials and
products on trucks and trailers by hand or by use of a forklift,(1%). Tools and equipment to be
supplied by Cherryfield Foods, Inc. Applicant should have 3 months experience as an
agricultural equipment operator. You will not be supervising other employees.
Special Requirements
Anticipated range of hours for different seasonal activities: Nine hours per day is normal. Workers may be offered more than the
specified work in a single day. The worker may be requested but not required to work 12-14 hours per day and/or on the Sabbath or
Federal holidays depending on the conditions in the fields, weather, and maturity of the crop. Worker may be requested to work
Saturday and Sunday during peak times and special needs but not required. These requirements pertain to both H-2A and U.S.
workers. Extreme heat, cold or drought may affect working hours. Employee may work 63 to 80 hours based on special work schedule
situations weather and crop conditions permitting.
