Job description

As an Seasonal Operations Specialist you work the day to day operations for multiple departments for your facility. This is a hands-on position requiring you to work outside in all kinds of weather. You will help with loading and unloading of grain, agronomy, and some feed products. The primary responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to; assisting with the train loads going out, and agronomy train loads coming in, monitoring and maintaining grain quality, mixing and loading of liquid/dry fertilizer and chemical products, assisting with the operation of the scale to weigh products, and performing routine maintenance and repairs of equipment and vehicles. Day to day tasks are housekeeping and maintenance duties to keep our bins up and running, grain handling, loading and unloading grain on both trucks and trains; as well as loading and handling fertilizer, chemicals, and herbicide, and filling anhydrous tanks. Employees will be required to operate forklifts, scale operations, and augers as well as sweep and clean out grain bins. You will be expected to work hard, and you will have to work more hours during busy seasons. This is an extremely skilled position requiring an individual that takes pride in their work, pays attention to details, and upholds Farmers Cooperative policies, mission, and core values. Overtime applies after 40 hours/week.

Special Requirements

Job requires extensive sitting, walking, pushing, pulling, repetitive movements, and frequent stooping. Employer will Must be able to climb to heights of up to 200ft. Physically, this position requires you to stand, stoop, bend, kneel, and crawl on a regular basis. This position requires you to climb ladders and ride the man-lift. Must be able to lift 100 pounds. Employer will conduct post-hire and random drug testing at employer's expense. Failing a drug test will result in termination. Must have basic computer skills. Exposed to grain dust, chemicals, fertilizers and extreme outdoor temperatures. Require a flexible schedule with more hours during harvest and planting seasons. Require a high school diploma or GED and a minimum of 3 months experience.
