Job description
Crops: Radish, carrots, Brussel sprouts, and beets
Row Crop Job Description: This job requires Machine harvest of bulk radish, carrots, Brussel sprouts, and beets; hand harvest vegetables; irrigation, planting, tractor/mechanical maintenance, crop preparation, crop protection, crop transport, machinery maintenance and tear down sanitation of grounds/facilities by the worker.
Workers can also:
1.Drive tractors
2.Spray and mix chemicals and fertilizers
3.Operate trucks to carry farm equipment, crops and farmworkers
4.Perform general repair of agricultural equipment.
5.Pack crops into containers.
Field Worker will do the following tasks:
Plant transplants and/or seeds
Harvest a variety of produce
Lift and Stack produce on trucks for transport to main farm
Perform weeding as needed
Follow instructions from Field Supervisors
Keep production levels at crew rates
Work with irrigation systems
Perform Manual labor as needed
Work Safely following procedures and instructions
Follow instructions regarding hygiene and food safety.
Special Requirements
Workers must have at least 3 months of experience in row crop experience. Specific requirements include lifting up to 60 pounds.
Specific Job Requirements: 1.Must be able to stand, stoop, bend, kneel, and reach for long periods of time. 2.Responsible for helping with day-to-day farming operations in their designated area on the row crop farm. 3.Duties include harvesting, packaging, weeding, washing and cooling of row crop vegetables to meet production standards and procedures. 4.The work is under the general direction of a supervisor or employer and is subject to period review by the supervisors for results obtained, changes in work methods, and adherence to policies. 5.Maximize crop by best weeding and harvesting practices. 7.Work with crews that move and set up irrigation pipes.
Training: There will be a demonstration period to familiarize workers with job specification and to demonstrate proper methods and other crop specific issues.
