Job description

Seeking 3 workers. Job Duties: Workers will be required to perform a variety of duties related to the production, care, planting, of nursery stock throughout the contract period, cattle ranch tasks, building maintenance, patching fence , hay crop cutting and baling, and loading/unloading, wrapping, mulching, arranging, harvesting, inventory of plant materials to include trees and shrubs, preparing soils and seed beds. Workers will use mechanical equipment and hand tools, to include tractors, skid loaders, wheel loader, excavator, backhoe, tillers, rippers, land planes, drop seeders and other misc. farm implements along with hand tools, shovels, pickax, rakes. All tools will be provided to the worker. Observe general condition of plants and apply the appropriate care; mix planting soil, pack, and store crop; maintain and repair structures/grounds; haul and spread soil/products to condition land; dig/rake and screen soil and fill cold frames/hot beds; plant shrubs/plants in containers; prepare plants/shrubs/trees to fill orders; move containerized trees/shrubs; dig/wrap roots of shrubs/trees; prepare crops for shipment; prune trees using a variety of pruning equipment including hand shears, hand loppers, hand saws, and 12-foot ladders; pruning and thinning from the ground or a ladder up to 12 feet in height or from a motorized platform; identify and remove stubs or broken branches, downward-growing branches, branches which rub against each other, shaded interior branches, dead wood and shoots/suckers with hand pruning saws and clippers and mechanized equipment; care for trees during growing process; pick up/handle/climb ladders; plant trees; drive, load/unload trucks; operate vehicle, motor bike, or all-terrain vehicle in the course of performing duties. Irrigation duties will include the following: Drip Irrigation: move and lay drip irrigation equipment in fields; maintain and repair drip irrigation; flush drip irrigation lines; remove drip in irrigation line. Other Irrigation Duties: remove pipes/wheel lines from storage and lay out/place in predetermined patterns in fields; lubricate, adjust, repair, and replace parts such as sprinkler heads.
