Job description
Workers will operate agricultural equipment used in the field in connection with preparing the fields and harvesting vegetable crops. Workers must be able to operate tractors and other farm machinery used in the field to prepare the ground for agricultural activity and harvest crops. Ground preparation includes leveling, disking, and ripping fields, using land planes, and chisel-plowing fields. Workers must be able to operate tractors and farm implements. Workers must be able to load and unload crops or containers of materials; load agricultural products for shipment; and drive and control equipment to support agricultural activities. Workers may perform other field operations tasks and duties under SOC Code 45-2091. Related duties may be assigned. Work is performed outdoors in highly varied weather conditions. Frequent walking, stooping, bending, crouching, and kneeling is required. Being on one’s feet for long periods of time is required. Sitting in, standing in, and/or operating field agricultural equipment for long time periods is required. Ability to frequently lift, push, pull, and carry weight up to 50 pounds is required. Dexterity to use and manipulate field agricultural equipment is required. Licensure to drive is required. Vision, focus, and cognitive ability to accomplish the functions above is required.
Special Requirements
Workers must have 60 days verifiable experience performing the job duties under Section A(8)(a). The work schedule under Section A(6) may be subject to change where weather, crops, or business needs demand. Work assignments, crew assignments, and assigned work tasks are at the sole discretion of the employer. For purposes of meeting the guarantee, workers will not be required to work more than the number of hours specified in this job order or on their Sabbath or Federal holidays. Workers must comply with the employers work rules and housing rules, which are set forth in full in this job order. Workers must comply with the employers personnel policies, including but not limited to its policies regarding safety, harassment/discrimination, abusive conduct, and drugs and alcohol. Workers must follow all reasonable and lawful instructions and directives. The employer reserves all management prerogatives not inconsistent with applicable law.
