Job description

Crops: Grains and beans, Grains, Beans, Soybeans

Workers who possess a valid driver’s license and meet all applicable legal requirements, including holding a doctor’s certificate as required by 29 CFR § 500.105, may be asked to drive vehicles for transporting workers, goods, or commodities on company business. This task is voluntary, compensable, and not a mandatory job duty. Workers without a valid driver’s license or doctor’s certificate will still be fully eligible for employment and are not disqualified from any other job responsibilities outlined in this application. The employer can and will make alternative arrangements for the transportation of workers should the need arise.

• Greet all customers promptly and courteously
• Drive company vehicle to obtain merchandise and transfer products & supplies

Assist in all aspects of the elevator operations
• Operate vehicle to pick up grain from customer or another location and deliver to a Landus facility.
• Operate a pay loader to assist in pile pick-up or loading agronomy products.
• Receiving and unloading grain operations.
• Loading grain trucks.
• Keeping facility clean and safe by cleaning and sweeping areas.
• Grain train loading operations including opening lids and sealing train cars.
• Operate a skid loader to clean up around the facility.
• Understand Lock out/tag out for confined space entry.
• Enter confined space with a full-time employee to clean out bins and boot pits.
• Assist in tarping piles of grain and pile pick-up.
• Operate a trackmobile.
• Ability to take inventory.
• Operate a grain dryer.
• Ability to operate the scale as needed.

Assist in all aspects of the fertilizer and chemical operations, if applicable to location
• Apply chemicals, NH3, and fertilizer to fields via sprayer or fertilizer spreader.
• Haul products via trucks to the field or other locations.
• Fill NH3 nurse tanks during season with another employee.
• Perform maintenance on nurse tanks.
• Unload fertilizer rail cars.
• Load chemical and fertilizer trucks.
• Operate a fork lift to move products.
• Load chemicals for customers with a Landus employee.
• Keep facility clean and safe by cleaning and sweeping areas.
• Ability to take inventory.

• Assist with general maintenance of the facility Ability to learn and run power tools.
• Diagnose and perform maintenance on equipment.
• Grease chains and bearings.
• Identify issues or problems, such as when a bearing is bad or a broken wire on hazard monitoring equipment.
• Identify potential problems and repair as necessary.
• Operate a lawn mower and weed eater.
• Spraying weeds.
• Painting assigned areas.
• Load and unload products and goods as assigned.
• Be willing to perform these duties at assigned Landus locations as needed.
• Champion of safety compliance throughout organization.
• Adhere to all Landus safety procedures including, but not limited to, completing assigned training, wearing hard hat, safety glasses, hi-vis, hard soled shoes, etc.

Special Requirements

Workers must have at least 3 months of experience in working with agricultural equipment. Specific requirements include lifting up to 100 pounds. Employer-paid, post-hire drug testing required. Any employee who declines to take or fails this drug test will be terminated and paid for all hours worked, if any.
