Job description

Operate machinery, service machinery, wash machinery, feed cattle with the machinery, serve as mechanic where necessary, fix anything that requires fixing on the feedlot, haul cattle to be harvested, equine care, and bovine health management.

The specified job duties of “serve as mechanic where necessary, fix anything that requires fixing on the feedlot” refer to light servicing duties, such as changing the oil or an air filter if necessary, as opposed to specialized mechanical duties.

The specified job duties of “Haul cattle to be harvested. Must be a safe operator of trucks and machinery. Must have a clean driving record,” and delivering cattle to market refers to operating agricultural equipment and trucks in the context of managing the health of cattle on the feedlot, as opposed to performing professional trucking duties.

The work day may begin / end earlier or later on any given day and evening. Typical workweek is Monday to Saturday, 6 a.m. - 5 p.m., with potential nights and weekends required depending on the crops and weather.

Employees work 12 days on and 2 days off in every 2-week pay period for a total of approximately 120 hours per pay period. During harvest, longer hours may be worked depending on weather. The H-2A workers will not be required to work on their Sabbath.

Special Requirements

Must be a safe operator of trucks and machinery.
Must have a clean driving record.
Must have equipment operation knowledge.
Must have operators license in order to operate farm plate vehicles.
