Job description

Shuttle drivers will pick up workers, take them to worksite, field walk, and drive workers back to their housing. The drivers main job activity is to direct and monitor work of casual and seasonal help during planting and harvesting.

They will also assist with simple daily vehicle maintenance checks (DOT pre and post trip inspections) and filling water jugs with drinking water for workers each morning. Other duties may include loading/unloading field supplies, irrigation installation and repair, freeze protection activities, planting crops, harvesting crops, as well as removing crops and plastic at the end of the season. Shuttle drivers are required to live in the housing provided by the employer and take workers once a week to the grocery store and laundromat. The weekly trips must occur to or from the worksites. Operation of the bus during non-work hours is strictly prohibited.

While operating a company vehicle during the period of employment, the driver must possess a valid driver's license issued by the United States or foreign equivalent license in order to operate the vehicle in accordance with license restrictions and vehicle classification applicable to that license. Shuttle drivers also must have or be able to immediately obtain a valid state and federal Farm Labor Contractor Certificate of Registration and must also abide by all the requirements of the Migrant and Seasonal Agricultural Worker Protection Act (MSPA). Background checks and random drug testing will be post-hire at the employer's expense.

The employer understands that they are responsible for assuring that all conditions of this agreement are met, regardless of any acts or omissions of the driver.
