Job description
Performs any of the following tasks to attend to livestock: Moving cattle home from summer pasture at the beginning of the season. Fall cattle work/pregnancy checking. Weaning. Feeding cattle. Working and vaccinating cattle. Inspect cattle for illness/injuries. Maintaining water tanks, cleaning, opening up frozen tanks. Maintaining winter grazing fences. Maintaining feeding equipment. Shipping calves to market. Snow removal. Moving cattle to calving pastures. Prepping barns and cattle for calving. Calving begins mid-February through May. Cleaning barns. Maintaining summer pastures fence. Moving cattle back to summer pastures at the end of the season. May need to drive to town to pick up cattle supplies.
Special Requirements
Minimum of 1 months of experience is required. Must be able to obtain a driver's license within 30 days of hire. Employer requires drug screen post hire at employers expense due to the liability of operating equipment. Employer requires criminal background check post-hire at employers' expense due to the presence of children on the farm and expensive tools and equipment. Failure to pass drug screen and/or criminal background check will result in termination of employment. Lift and carry items weighing up to 75 pounds. The worker will be exposed to extreme temperatures. Frequent stooping is required. Repetitive movements is required. Workers must have positive verifiable experience relevant to the job and be capable of performing physically demanding tasks. Workers must be able to speak English. Employees must adhere to strict biosecurity, company policies, and food safety guidelines, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
