Job description
Workers will be engaged in the care and management of bovine livestock. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, watering, feeding, herding, transporting, loading and unloading animals, administering basic medical treatment, and providing general care in support of the livestock operation. Duties may also encompass ancillary tasks that contribute to animal welfare, such as cleaning, constructing, and repairing pens, shelters, and other livestock-related facilities. The majority of duties will be performed outdoors and may require prolonged periods of standing, walking, or, on occasion, sitting. Workers must be capable of lifting and carrying heavy objects, such as feed bags or livestock panels. Tasks will be completed using a combination of manual labor and machinery, depending on the nature of the assignment.
Special Requirements
Hours listed in Section A.6 are the anticipated hours to be worked. These hours could increase or decrease based on weather conditions, crop delay, pests or disease, crop yield, available labor, and or productivity. Use of cell phones during work hours is prohibited, supervisors will have phones in case of emergency.
